What is Title 1?
Inverness Primary School is identified as a Title I school as part of Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The Title I Grant is designed to support State and local school reform efforts, support academic standards, and improve teaching and learning for students. Title I programs must be based on effective means of improving student achievement and include strategies to support family engagement. All Title I schools must jointly develop with parents and family members a written parent and family engagement policy.
Parent and Family Engagement Events!
Inverness Primary School will host the following events to build the capacity for strong family engagement to support a partnership among the school, parents, and the community to improve student academic achievement.
Meet Your Teacher - August 6, 2025: Meet your child’s teacher and school staff.
Parent – Teacher Conferences - October 1, 2025: Connect with your child’s teacher to discuss academic progress, strenghts, and areas for growth.
Fall Festival - October 23, 2025
Title 1 Literacy Night Event - November 13, 2025: Join us for an engaging evening focused on student acheivement, reading strategies, state standards, and testing inforamtion. A great opportunity for families to connect through literacy!
Cookies with Santa Literacy Night - December 11, 2025
Title 1 STEAM Night - March 19, 2025: Take part in hands-on activities that sipport learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM).
SAC Meetings - September 22, 2025, November 17, 2025, January 26, 2026, and April 27, 2026:
The IPS School Advisory Council meets quarterly to support school improvement through collaboration. Members assist the principal in developing and evaluating the School Improvement Plan and annual budget and provide input to the school board and district staff. As outlined in the SAC Bylaws, the council serves in an advisory role- inquiring, informing, recommending, and evaluation to help guide school decisions.


Barriers
The school recognizes that work schedules, language barriers, discomfort in school settings, and lack of interest can make parent involvement challenging. Efforts are being made to create a welcoming environment, offer flexible options, and provide support so all families feel included and empowered to engage in ways that work for them.
